July Meeting: Learning to Live with Weeds

Tyler Zaner from the Taos Soil and Water Conservation District will present "Learning to Live with Weeds." His talk will encompasses weeds' and other plants' roles in a functioning natural landscape.  Aside from talking about mindset and how to consider thinking about weeds, various management strategies will be discussed for undesirable native and non-native species, perennials and annuals alike.

Tyler has been with the Taos Soil and Water Conservation District for the last three years, focusing on improving soil health and lessening the impact of invasive species on private lands within our district.  Before that he spent a decade commercially growing vegetables. He also spent several years working for the USFS and BLM fighting wildfires.
