As Spring lures us back into our gardens, we need to prepare our bodies to tackle the hard work ahead.  The Garden Club is offering a special exercise program that will help us get in shape for this endeavor!  Bonnie Golden of AgeUpWell Taos will take us through a series of stretches and exercises to build our strength to meet this challenge.  The program is 1-1/2 hour long and will be held at Kit Carson Park, starting at 10 am in the back of the park on Thursday, April 18.  Cost of the program is $15.  Please bring cash for payment to the class.  Bring an exercise mat, small weights (2 or 5 lb.) and water to keep hydrated.  If you use knee pads for gardening, bring them too.

Bonnie was trained at Canyon Ranch in the mid-1980's and worked for them in Lenox MA and Tucson, AZ.  From 1990-1995 I was Fitness Director at Taos Spa. During that time I had a grant through Kellogg Foundation to provide the Taos Pueblo Senior Center participants with exercise and wellness programs.  I did the same at Ancianos.  I consulted with the New Mexico State Agency on Aging training their trainers at senior centers across the state. I taught classes at Northside Fitness Center. I owned Taos Fitness Adventures and Taos Fitness Co that provided personal training in-home as well as outdoor fitness adventures.  I worked in long-term health care in Taos until 2020 and have been helping people maintain their wellness levels through moving their bodies, while keeping their souls and minds engaged and healthy.  AgeUpWell Taos has been keeping people moving and smiling since 2021.
