Our July speaker is Craig Dunn from Black Mesa Winery.  He will educate us  on the art/science of "wine-growing".  How grapes are cultivated in particular ways in order to make the best wines.  The site, climate, soil, etc., impact the quality of the grape.  The winemaker then has the opportunity to turn the raw material into wine, using a variety of techniques.  Thus, the art/science of "wine growing”.  

Craig Dunn spent 27 years at the Taos Inn, 18 of those as the "Cellar Master".  He has managed a 25 page award winning wine list.  He has been a winemaker at Black Mesa Winery for 13 years, the last 4 as the head winemaker.  He has a winemaking crew of 2 other people, answers to the owners, Jerry and Lynda Burd.
