The home, outbuildings, and gardens sit on 2 acres of irrigated farmland in Canon. The property is long and narrow due to its original intention that each landowner have frontage on the Acequia Madre. I have grown vegetables on this land for 25 years, and for a commercial market for 15 years. The addition of flowers was a happy accident – in 2018 my daughter asked me to grow flowers for her wedding. That season I saw higher vegetable yields and realized the flowers had attracted more pollinators making them essential to the farm. Since then, I have added a hedgerow of native flowering plants to create more habitat for pollinators. Altogether, there are now over 80 varieties of cutting flowers and vegetables growing here. We have also planted many aspens, fruit trees and conifers that are now big mature trees. As all gardens go, this one is still evolving.
Please plan are carpooling, if possible. This will make parking much easier.
