We are arranging, with the immense help of our Tour Venue Coordinator, Lawrence Baker, a series of Members Only Garden Tours.  For each tour, you will need to make a reservation so that we can ease the parking situation for the homeowner.  The tours will be of the garden only.  When you make your reservation you will receive directions to the garden.

A delightful abundance of flowers, veggies and fruit trees adorn the perimeter of this house in the Country Club area.  After building their home, the initial hardscape was planned and executed by the husband and the wife/gardener then took over planting the raised vegetable beds and the tree and flower beds in between his flagstone walkways, fountains, and a river of rock all capped off by a firebreak all around.  The owner describes her gardens as “Loving Hands at Home” because she does it all herself, including her own starts of zinnias, marigolds, delphiniums, and Sweet William. Over the years, friends have given her many of her plants like columbine, peonies and even peach trees as well as iris, Shasta daisies and hollyhock seeds. If the carrots escape their corner of the vegetable garden and go live in the strawberries, well, that’s OK.  Same with the onions. They will all get harvested eventually. Peach, apricot and apple trees add to the owners’ healthy eating life style.  Pots of geraniums line the back patio with its backdrop of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. As you exit the gardens, rose bushes, a large grape vine that produces delicious grapes, mint and other plants will finish off your tour.
