Instead of meetings this Summer, we are arranging, with the immense help of our Tour Venue Coordinator, Lawrence Baker, a series of Members Only Garden Tours. For each tour, you will need to make a reservation so that we can maintain some social distancing and ease the parking situation for the homeowner. The tours will of the garden only. When you make your reservation you will receive directions to the garden.
Our second tour is the shared gardens on two homeowners in Valverde Commons. The homeowners describes their garden as:
“This joint landscaping plan was developed by Dan Jones and executed by Dan and Jerry Martinez in 2018. Although connected by the entry path from the Commons area, the individual lots are different in respect to watering systems and subsequent plantings. The original owners of 404 installed a controlled system that allowed for a greater variety and volume of plants. Owners of 406 opted for the garden-hose watering method, and therefore, drought-resistant plants were planted. The property line between the lots follows the simulated dry streambed from the road, a little past a flagstone slab bridge, and then veers toward the backyard of 404. Due to the significant change in elevation from the abutting SW lot, boulders, originally from the Ski Valley, were expertly arranged to create the transition in height.
Please bring your own water.
