Instead of meetings this Summer, we are arranging, with the immense help of our Tour Venue Coordinator, Lawrence Baker, a series of Members Only Garden Tours.  For each tour, you will need to make a reservation so that we can maintain some social distancing and ease the parking situation for the homeowner.  The tours will be of the garden only.  When you make your reservation you will receive directions to the garden.

Our third tour is the extensive Stammberger gardens.  With the able assistance of Jerry Schwartz, these gardens have been evolving. Dahlias are no longer the centerpiece of the garden. Lillie bulbs were purchased yearly at the Philadelphia Flower Show from a grower in Maine.  The lilies now steal the show.

Not wanting formal gardens, but not wanting fields of weeds, some of the larger spaces have been developed as wildflower gardens. A particular garden is being cultivated as a prairie. Choosing grasses for their height, color and texture is an idea copied from a Portland garden.

The vegetable garden has been almost too successful.  Feeling that food was being wasted, the decision was made to make the vegetable garden more of a cutting garden with some vegetables. Of course the garden became so pretty we did not want to cut from it.  A big crop of garlic is a favorite.

A shade garden is viewed from the back portal.  Hostas are added every year. Around 65 pots are planted around the garden and are used in a variety of hanging devices.

Yard art has been collected from a variety of sources. Tricia's favorite is a truck tire painted white and cajoled into the shape of a swan she named Annabelle.

Please bring your own water.
